Sunland Hospital, Tallahassee, Florida. It was a mental hospital between 1958 and 1983 and then sat abandoned for 25 years until it was torn down to make way for an apartment complex. I never did get to visit it before it was demolished, but if anyone out there wants to find a setting for a horror novel, look no further. Between all the ivy on the outside, broken medical equipment, graffiti, the break-ins every night (and the wild tales resulting from those break-ins) and rumors of being haunted = terror par excellence.
